Burt P. Hodges, Partner. Originally from Albany, Georgia, Burt has a BBA in finance from the University of Georgia and a MBA from The Citadel with Honors. He has over twelve years of experience in the Charleston tax, accounting, and financial services industry and is licensed to represent taxpayers before all levels of the IRS. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) professional (providing services through Accel Financial Advisors, LLC). Burt has been a partner of Accel since 2004. 

Mark C. Neath, Partner.  Mark obtained his B.A. from Oberlin College and J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School with a focus on individual and corporate tax. After admission to the Ohio State Bar in 1996, he practiced tax law with the international law firm Squire Sanders and managed the tax practice of a Cleveland CPA firm. With over 15 years of experience, Mark is licensed to represent taxpayers before all levels of the IRS and is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM)  professional (providing services through Accel Financial Advisors, LLC). Mark has been a partner of Accel since 2004. 

Rae Phillips.  Rae is a former employee of Accel who now consults with the firm and provides contract accounting help for several of our clients. She obtained her BBA in Accounting and continued in the Masters program at the University of Georgia. She worked for five years in auditing, forensic accounting, and advisory services at PriceWaterhouse Coopers in both the San Francisco and Atlanta offices. In 2004 Rae moved to the Charleston area where she worked as the assistant controller for a national home builder for three years. She joined Accel in 2009 and has developed particular expertise with medical practice management and accounting.

Kimberly Neath.  Kim is a highly trained tax professional and became an IRS-licensed Enrolled Agent (EA) in 2011 . She prepares individual and business tax returns, advises clients on tax planning issues, and is licensed to represent taxpayers before all levels of the IRS. She has a B.A. from Oberlin College and once owned and managed an independent bookstore in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Her first-hand experience as a business owner combined with her tax and bookkeeping skills gives her a unique perspective to serve Accel's individual and small business clients.

Dalia McMichael.  Dalia joined Accel in 2004 after spending several years with Hiott Associates, CPAs. She is a skilled office manager and coordinates a wide variety of office logistics and activities. She is also an experienced QuickBooks bookkeeper and assists with payroll and sales tax return preparation.
